As a speaker Lynn Rasmussen takes audiences on an entertaining and eye-opening tour of today’s relationships at home and at work. Drawing from the tradition of aloha and cutting-edge research from new science, her lively stories make life between men and women in this fast-paced, changing world a lot more fun and much easier.

As a business and life coach with clients in Hawaii and the mainland, Rasmussen’s clients are entrepreneurs, CEOs, artists, and actors who are designing more love, health, money, and time into their lives.

She and her husband, Richard, have been married for over thirty years and live on Maui. (Someone has to live here!) They travel, hiking and canoeing when possible, to places like Romania, Myanmar, Big Bend National Park, and South Africa. Their children, Molly, 26, and Ryan, 24, live and work creatively in Southern California.

Lynn is a founder and board member of the Paia Youth Council, Inc., who oversees the Paia Youth and Cultural Center and the nation’s first youth-run radio station, RadiOpio. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Kahului, Maui.

Research Interests

With a graduate degree in psychology, with an emphasis in adult development and systems theory, Rasmussen’s work is grounded in systems thinking (also known as general systems theory, complex systems, and dynamic systems.) She writes and speaks on the self as a system of systems processes, a framework for integrating findings from psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, physiology, religious practices, and more. As a pioneer in this revolutionary approach, she is preparing the way for a new method of thinking that is more in sync with how life works.

She is part of a research group who is outlining a new science with Len Troncale at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona. She is also on the board of the International Society for Systems Science.
